The graduate:
1. Is familiar with basic nomenclature used in Pedagogy, understands its sources and applications in similar scientific disciplines,
2. Has coherent knowledge about education, its philosophical, socio-cultural, historical, biological, psychological and medical basis,
3. Has basic knowledge about the structure and functioning of the educational system, goals, legal basis and functioning of various educational institutions, including foster care, therapeutic, cultural and support institutions,
4. Is able to implement basis theoretical knowledge in Pedagogy and related disciplines to analyse and interpret educational problems as well as educative, care, cultural and support institutions and patterns of human behaviour,
5. Is able to use basis theoretical approaches to analyse, interpret and design educational strategies, can offer solutions to specific educational problems, envisage their development and predict results of the activities,
6. Can perform various roles in a team, accept and appoint tasks, has basis organizational skills that allow fulfilling goals of planning professional activities,
7. Realizes their knowledge and skills, understands the necessity for life-long professional development and self-development, is able to self-assess their competences and skills, shapes their development and education,
8. Understand the validity, values and need for educational activities in a society. Is able to accept professional challenges, pro-active and ready to fulfil individual and team goals in Pedagogy in a perseverant way.
Second cycle
The graduate:
1. Has comprehensive and coherent knowledge of Pedagogy and Methodology (is familiar with mainstream approches, research orientations, strategies and research methods in social and humanistic sciences, knows the methodological approaches, understand the multiparadigm approach to research in Pedagogy),
2. Has comprehensive knowledge in human development during the life span in the biological, psychological and social aspect,
3. Has comprehensive knowledge about participants of educational activities, foster care, educative, cultural, support and therapeutic ones,
4. Has comprehensive and organized knowledge about various educational environments, their individual aspects and processes,
5. Has developed observation skills, searching for and processing information about social phenomena of various kinds, using a number of sources and interpreting them from an educational viewpoint,
6. Has developed skills for presenting their own ideas, doubts and offering suggestions, argumentation in the context of selective theoretical perspectives, author’s viewpoints, addressing ethical approach,
7. Is able to select and implement activities in specific educational field, can select means and work methods to face professional challenges in an effective way,
8. Is ready to face individual and professional challenges, is pro-active, faces the challenges and ready to fulfil individual and team goals in Pedagogy in a perseverant way, participates in team work,
9. Understands the validity, values and need for professional and ethical conduct in educational activities. Realizes and articulates moral and ethical dilemmas stemming from their own and other people’s work, searches for best solutions and possibilities for correcting educational malpractice.
Department of European Studies - Gdansk
Programme in Management
First and second cycle, full-time and part-time programmes
The graduate:
1. Can explain the history of management and describe its development in the context of socio-economic changes,
2. Identifies relations between economic and other social institutions around them both on the domestic and international scale,
3. Can explain key concepts (theories) of an enterprise/institution for its foundation, functioning, development of economic and social organizations,
4. Can distinguish and characterise basic concepts, methods and techniques of management and decision making processes,
5. Is able to gather and systemize information, analyzes economic phenomena individually using statistical and econometric methods,
6. Utilizes adequate methods and tools to describe and analyze company or other organization’s activity problems and is able to describe and analyze their environment,
7. Fulfils specific management functions (planning, organization, motivating and supervision) and organizational functions (purchasing, productions, finance, marketing, human resources, etc.) in an organization, is able to describe the scope of the activities,
8. Is able to analyze and interpret events and draw conclusions that allow for problem solving for the common good.
9. Finds solutions to problems related to threats in cooperation with administrative organizations and safety in communes, provinces, bearing in mind the social context.
Programme in Administration
First cycle full-time and part-time
The graduate:
1. Is able to explain the key theoretical concepts for of an enterprise/institution for its foundation, functioning, development of economic and social organizations,
2. Is able to characterise human management functions in the context of an organization and its activities,
3. Is familiar with and interprets law on public and self-government administration and companies,
4. Can explain and exemplify norms and standards in specific activity fields (standards for accounting, work norms, quality norms, etc.),
5. Can use theoretical knowledge in a specific field in an organization and is a specialist in the selected field of study,
6. Employs norms and standards in planning, organization, motivation and supervision (of work, quality, etc.),
7. Effectively manages human, material, financial and information resources to achieve goals (has an ability to use a foreign language at a B2 level described by CEFR),
8. Responsibly designs various social projects, is able to explain economic and managerial aspects of projects,
9. Is able to communicate effectively at work and outside and to spread their knowledge using various media (both in their native language and English).
Programme in European Studies
First and second cycle full-time and part-time studies
First cycle
The graduate:
1. Has coherent knowledge of specific fields and understands basic theories and basis methodologies used in European Studies, as well as its methodological and subject relations with other scientific disciplines;
2. Has coherent knowledge of norms, principles, characteristics and mechanisms that run the organization, with a special focus on European structures in the international context;
3. Has basic knowledge of managing European Union projects, is familiar with EU’s priorities, institutions (both on the domestic and foreign level) that manage funds for EU projects, is familiar with procedures;
4. Knows the sources, methods, techniques and tools to gain data for specific fields of science for European Studies;
5. Has basis knowledge for social and economic development trends in Europe and economic trends on the global, state, regional and local scale;
6. Is able to give oral presentations in Polish and in a foreign language about concepts of European Studies, using theoretical approach and various sources;
7. Is ready to participate in projects, groups, organizations and institutions, recognizes benefits of team work, is ready to face challenges of individual and team tasks (accepting various roles in a team), can take autonomous decisions;
8. Recognizes and names moral and ethical dilemmas connected with their own and other peoples’ work, searches for best solutions, acts according to ethics.
Second cycle
1. Has extensive knowledge about European Studies as a sciences, about its methodological and subject relations with other scientific disciplines;
2. Is familiar with key concepts of European civilization and has extensive knowledge in a selective field of study for integration;
3. Has extensive knowledge for the functioning of the European Union, its competences, scope of activities and decision making processes;
4. Has extensive knowledge about social and economic development trends on a European scale;
5. Understands and can accurately interpret social phenomena and their relations on a European scale;
6. Is able to employ professional terminology and uses research paradigms in European Sciences and related disciplines, gives arguments, analyzes and consciously formulates and verifies their outlook;
7. Can communicate though various communication channels, has developed interpersonal skills, uses specialist language;
8. Is able to predict multidisciplinary social consequences of their activities.
