Degree course - Pedagogy, first and second cycle programmes

The aim of the first cycle programme in Pedagogy is the preparation of graduates for the educational, didactic, therapeutic and counselling work. The graduate will have basic pedagogical, historical, philosophical, sociological and psychological knowledge to understand the socio-cultural background for education as well as practical skills for specific fields. The graduates will have skills for the recognition and diagnosis of educational needs, work planning skills and consistent education and skills for social communication. The programme prepares graduates for reflexive perception on their own work performance and comprehensive understanding of the educational reality, as well as self-improving their professional skills. The graduates are prepared to plan their own professional career and to develop their specialist knowledge.
The second cycle graduates have extensive interdisciplinary theoretical basis for specific educational activities. They are able to identify, name and describe educational problems on the local scale and in the macro social dimension as well as are capable of solving theoretical and practical educational problems. They are prepared to plan their own professional career and to undertake managerial positions in educational facilities. The practical approach employed in the programme contributes to the pro-social orientation and working for the community. The graduates are prepared for life-long learning and are ready to continue onto third cycle programmes (doctorate studies).
First and cycle full-time and part-time students can select among the following fields:
Defence Education and Public Safety;
Pre-school and Early School Education (additional selective module is Foreign Language in Pre-school and Early Education, Speech Therapy in Pre-school and Early Education, Integrated Education in Pre-School and Early Education);
Rehabilitation Pedagogy with Elements of Prevention and Care (additional selective module: Special Needs Education);
Support for the Elderly and Disabled People (additional selective module: Communication with the Elderly and Disabled People In English or in German).
Second cycle full-time and part-time students can select the following fields:

General Pedagogy for Graduates of Non-Pedagogical First-Cycle Studies
Pre-school and Early-School Education with Integrated Education

Professional Guidance and Personal Counselling;
